Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher
The Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher program is limited to low-income families and individuals. The Greene County Housing Authority (GCHA) determines your eligibility based on:
- Annual gross income;
- Whether you qualify as elderly, a person with a disability, or as a family under general occupancy; and
- U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status.
If you are eligible, the GCHA will check your Criminal Background, References, and other factors to make sure you and your family will be suitable tenants. The GCHA will deny admission to any applicant whose habits and practices may be expected to have a detrimental effect on other tenants or on the project’s environment, or reputation.

The SECTION 8 (HCV) waiting list is currently OPEN. It will remain open though December 31, 2024 or until a suffcient number of applications are received,

IF YOU ARE A FORMER TENANT OF THE GREENE COUNTY HOUSING AUTHORITY AND YOU OWE THE HOUSING AUTHORITY A BALANCE FROM YOUR MOVE- OUT, YOU WILL NOT BE A ABLE TO REAPPLY UNTIL YOUR BALANCE IS PAID IN FULL.
